(a)–(e) Photomicrographs for histopathological examination of the Hematoxylin & Eosin-stained tongue specimen after induction of OSCC, at week 20, the induction site started to develop epithelial dysplasia (200X) (a). Four weeks later, carcinoma in situ (200X) started to appear on the dorsum surface of the tongue (b). Several mice developed invasive OSCC with some being Grade I (200X) (c) at week 28. Others yield Grade II (200X) (d) at week 32, and some mice developed Grade III (200X) (e) at the end of the induction period after 36 weeks.
