Figure 3. — (a) Newly designed vial caps that allow for fixing the position of the vials in the sleeves while preventing leaked medium from flooding the sleeves. The needles are maintained in position using standard heat-shrink tubing. The cap integrates two additional ports that can be used for more complex assays. (b) eVOLVER enclosure designed to protect the main body of the eVOLVER machine from leakage of liquid medium. The casing is tilted to facilitate the efficient evacuation of liquid medium. (c) Casing designed to prevent accidental switching off of the eVOLVER system during an experiment.
