Hyperforin affects the expression of proteins involved in tumor invasion and metastatic potential. Cell were transfected with either HMOX-1 siRNA or a scrambled siRNA. After 24 h of transfection, the cells were treated with or without 3 µM of HPF. Representative immunoblots show the expression level of CD133 antigen, octamer-4 (OCT-4), tyrosine-protein kinase receptor UFO (AXL), urokinase plasminogen activator receptor (uPAR), metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), and GAPDH as a loading control. The histograms represent the mean values ± S.D. of protein expression levels, which were measured via densitometry and derived from three independent experiments.
