Linear regression analyses followed by simple slope analysis showed that children from low (-1 SD) and average levels of socioeconomic disadvantage had a significant positive association between hair cortisol and family dysfunction, whereas children exposed to high levels of socioeconomic vulnerability (+1 SD) showed no significant association between family dysfunction and hair cortisol levels.
