Figure 8.

Adolescent binge drinking disrupts the excitability of PL SST and pyramidal neurons, with changes in SST neurons persisting at least 30 days after cessation of drinking. In females, pyramidal neurons become hyperexcitable in adulthood. Despite these excitability changes, SST-mediated GABA transmission onto pyramidal and non-SST, non-pyramidal neurons is not altered 24 hr after ethanol consumption ends.
