Perforation in the sigmoid colon. There was a slight loss of color from the descending colon to the sigmoid colon, suggesting impaired blood flow in the inferior mesenteric artery region after Y-graft placement (a), but the initial histological examination showed that the mucosa in the area of perforation was preserved, and there was little evidence of impaired blood flow (b). Localized thinning of the intrinsic muscular layer is also seen (arrowheads) (c)
