Following GlcN treatment of islet the abundance of plasmamembrane β-catenin decreased. Murine islets were isolated as outlined in Materials and methods. They were treated with 5 mM GlcN beginning 24 h after isolation, for 48 h h (the experimental condition associated to islet ER stress, dedifferentiation, and beta cell functional impairment [6]). Islets were embedded in paraffin and subjected to immunohistochemistry as outlined in “Materials and methods”. n = 3
