This table presents the estimated effect of a hypothetical food insecurity intervention, with estimation conducted using generalized linear models. Status quo, food secure, and food insecure columns present population means and 95% confidence intervals. The difference column represents the difference in population means under the two conditions in each scenario. Scenario 1 indicates a comparison between a condition in which all participants are made food secure via a hypothetical intervention and a condition in which food insecurity is distributed as observed under the status quo. Scenario 2 indicates a comparison between a condition in which all participants are made food secure via a hypothetical intervention and a condition in which all participants are made food insecure via a hypothetical intervention. SF-6D Short-Form Six Dimension health utility index, MCS mental component score, PCS the physical component score of the Veterans Rand 12-Item Health Survey, K6 the Kessler 6 psychological distress scale, PHQ-2 Patient Health Questionnaire 2-item measure of depressive symptoms. A higher score or positive difference represents better health for the SF-6D, MCS, and PCS. A lower score or negative difference represents better health for the K6 and PHQ-2
