A 5-year-old boy was operated on for a severe aortic insufficiency (bicuspid valve) by the Ross technique with an 18 mm Contegra tube insertion in the pulmonary tract. An increase in gradients in the RV-PA conduit (A) was demonstrated during follow-up. Further tests (B,D) revealed methicillin-sensitive Staphylococcus aureus endocarditis ((A,B,D), yellow arrow) complicated by septic pulmonary emboli ((C), red arrow).
