Measured polarisation as a function of tuning coil current, in units of phase rotation, for $τ$ = 80 ns for a graphite block at rest (red circles) and a rotation speed of 85 rpm (black triangles, corresponding to approx. 0.258 m/s). The lines are a fit to the data taken at $Q_{x}$ =5*10 $^{- 2}$ Å $^{- 1}$ , $Q_{y}$ =6*10 $^{- 3}$ Å $^{- 1}$ using Eq. (1). For definitions of x and y see Fig. 2.
