Significant anticonvulsant effects were observed in the 6 Hz acute mouse model of seizures by valproate treatment (400 mg kg−1) as evidenced by increased EC50 value (indicative of the amount of current required to induce a seizure in 50% of mice), compared to vehicle. Sulfonadyn-47 showed dose-dependent anticonvulsant activity. B. 10 mg kg−1 was ineffective. C and D. 30 and 60 mg kg−1 significantly inhibited seizures. Four different cohorts of mice (n = 30/cohort) were used for these experiments.
