Table 1.

NOP mRNA expression in HUVECs. The presence of NOP receptor mRNA was detected in HUVECs treated for 24 h with 50% or 75% conditioned media from MCF-7 breast cancer cells or VEGF/FGF 10 ng ml−1 for 24 or 48 h. To determine ΔCT, the geometric mean of the housekeeper genes ELF2B1 and B2M was used. Data are presented as mean [standard error of the mean] of 32 assays (in 32 individual cell lines) for control and treated samples and 31 for 75% MCF-7 cells. There was no MOP receptor mRNA detected and in any cell line, and there was no amplification in any non-template control. There were no statistically significant differences (analysis of variance) amongst the groups.
