Associations tested with generalized linear models. Recruiting center (Alicante, Barcelona, Reus, Valencia), smoking status (former smoker, never smoked, smoker), diabetes status, sex, age categories (below the median, < 65 years old; above the median, > 65 years old), and intervention group (CG, IG) set as fixed effect; participant ID set as random effect. Multiple testing correction performed with the Benjamini-Hochberg procedure and features with FDR < 0.1 reported (Reference: Tertile 1).
