PlyB activity against B. cereus. (A) Schematic of PlyB mode of action of disrupting the bacterial cell wall during treatment. (B) B. cereus was grown overnight, diluted 1:100, and grown to the midlogarithmic phase. The bacteria were harvested, washed, and resuspended in PBS to an OD₆₀₀ of ~2.0. The bacteria were diluted in a 96-well plate with either buffer only (no PlyB control) or PlyB at concentrations ranging from 0 to 125 µg/mL.
