Mean was calculated according to the following criteria: 1) If LOD and LOQ were available, mean level was calculated using LOD/2 for results lower than the LOD. For results between LOD and LOQ, numerical values, if available, were used. 2) If only LOQ was available, or if numerical values between LOD and LOQ were not available, LOQ/2 for values below the LOQ were used (European Community, 2002).
