Influence of synthetic flagellin epitope (unprocessed serum). Serum samples from patients were assayed for LD (Lyme specific IgM antibodies) by M-capture ELISA. Either the biotinylated whole-cell sonicate (Bb-bio) alone (a), the biotinylated whole-cell sonicate (Bb-bio) plus biotinylated flagellin synthetic epitope-BSA conjugate (Fla-bio) (b), or the biotinylated flagellin synthetic epitope-BSA conjugate (Fla-bio) alone (c) was used as the antigen source.
