The protocol of Dex treatment in Aβ25–35 mice. A total of 137 C57BL/6N mice were injected with saline or Aβ25–35 intracerebroventricularly. Two weeks after the surgery, these mice were injected with Dex (40 μg/kg or 80 μg/kg) or saline intraperitoneally twice at 30 min intervals. The Y-maze behavior test was conducted on days 1, 3, and 7 following IP injection. Following the behavioral test, the brain was removed and divided into the left hemisphere and right hippocampus for Western blotting and immunofluorescence staining, respectively. i.c.v., intracerebroventricular; Aβ25–35, amyloid β-protein fragment 25–35; Dex, dexmedetomidine; IP, intraperitoneal.
