Expected results are as defined by Kent and Kubica (3). LJ Salt from manufacturer 3 were used. The media were inoculated with a suspension equal to a 1 McFarland turbidity standard. pos, positive; neg, negative.
Includes an M. abscessus isolate which was salt tolerance test negative except at 30°C in ambient air.
