Effect of LPE on in vitro Cu/Zn SOD (SOD1) and Mn SOD (SOD2) enzyme activity. (A) The SOD1 (black circle) and SOD2 (open circle) enzyme activities were assayed in the presence or in the absence of the indicated amounts of LPE, ranging from 40 to 400 µM GAE. (B) Data were analyzed according to a first order behavior and the IC₅₀ values were calculated from the slope of the linear regression (r² = 0.9913 for SOD1 and r² = 0.9925 for SOD2). Data are expressed as percentage vs. control samples (in absence of LPE) ± SD.
