Mitochondria were activated with ADP, malate, glutamate, pyruvate and succinate at saturating concentrations. No significant main or interaction effects from the intervention are observed, suggesting that other mechanisms than an increased mitochondrial capacity may be responsible for the observed reduction in lactate. n = 9 in each condition.
