The protective effect of quercetin against DON-induced barrier loss was abrogated by Nrf2 antagonist. Cell monolayers grown on transwells were first pretreated with or without brusatol (100 nM) for 2 h, and then incubated in the presence or absence of quercetin (40 μM) and DON (2 μM) and TEER (A) was measured over a 26-h period.
