(b) Cell metabolic activity was assessed with the MTS assay. Two independent experiments were performed. Each experiment involved at least four inserts for both the static and perfused conditions, and was repeated twice (#1, #2). Mann–Whitney U-test showed no significant difference between the two groups (p > 0.05).
