JUICE would hold Regulus fixed in the center of the UVS slit starting a few minutes before ingress until all of its light is blocked by Jupiter. The panels on the left show the ingress occultation light curves spectral resolved (above) and binned over wavelength and labeled by dominant absorber (below). Starting on the left with no light blocked and moving to the right we observe the absorption of the shortest wavelengths first due to H₂ and CH₄ and then followed at longer wavelengths by absorptions by C₂H₂, C₂H₆ and a mix of higher order hydrocarbons (C_xH_y)
