Beta-coefficients were obtained by including all variables in a single-step multivariate logistic regression model. Variables entered on step 1: Heart valve prosthesis, community-acquired bacteremia, CoNS isolated in all bottles, persistent bacteremia (> 12 h apart). IE: infective endocarditis. CoNs: Coagulase-negative staphylococci.
