Fig. 2 — Fibrinogen pathway: prothrombin is converted with the assistance of calcium by prothrombin activator to thrombin which enhances the conversion of fibrinogen to fibrinogen monomer. The formed fibers are cross-linked with the assistance of an activated fibrin stabilizing factor
