The contents inside the boxes show the expression levels (TfR1, FTH1, Mfrn1 and FSP1) or activity (ERK) of proteins that determine the sensitivity of hepatocytes to ferroptosis inducers including iron excess, RSL3, and iFSP1. The listed factors regulate the vulnerability to ferroptosis in part through modulation of mtFe content, mtROS production and the magnitude of LP. mtFe, mitochondrial Fe²⁺; and LP, lipid peroxidation.
