The expression levels of the putative bony fish ALOX15 orthologs were calculated from the intensities of the immune signals using the purified M. fulvus ALOX as reference compound. This enzyme was previously expressed as N-terminal his-tag fusion protein and was subsequently purified to electrophoretic homogeneity by affinity chromatography on a Ni-NTA-agarose column.
