Biomembrane oxygenase activities of bony fish ALOX-isoforms. Aliquots of the cellular lysate supernatants (identical AA oxygenase activities) of the putative bony fish ALOX15 orthologs were incubated in PBS with submitochondrial membranes for 15 min. Sample workup and HPLC analysis were carried out as described in the legend to Figure 6. The OH-PUFA/PUFA ratios (in %) were calculated from the RP-HPLC chromatograms. Two identical samples were run for each enzyme preparation (biological replicates).
