rDNA mapping by hybridisation on KARD-PFGE. BssHII- and MluI-KARD-PFGE dried gels were hybridised with either a 3′ rDNA probe (A) or a 16S rDNA probe (B) (see Fig. 4A for localisation of the probes). Data confirm the subtelomeric position of the rDNA unit on all the chromosomes and provide information about the MluI fragments adjacent to the 12-kb terminal fragments.
