Morphology of teicoplanin-resistant staphylococci grown in the presence of teicoplanin. Bacteria (CNS 18) were grown in the presence of 8 μg of teicoplanin per ml. The culture was harvested at the mid-exponential (top panel) or stationary (bottom panel) phase of growth and then prepared for transmission electron microscopy, as described in reference 23.
