Figure A4

Interactions in the Rod complex. Interactions were examined by the bacterial two‐hybrid assay. DHM1 cells carrying plasmids producing the indicated proteins fused to either the T18 or T25 fragment of adenylate cyclase were streaked on a plate containing 5‐Bromo‐4‐Chloro‐3‐Indolyl‐β‐d‐Galactoside (X‐gal). The plates were incubated at 37°C for overnight. The number in each picture shows the average Millar units of two independent experiments. (a) Self‐interactions of RodZ and RMR and interactions between RodZ (RMR) and each component of the Rod complex are shown. (b) Interactions between PBP2 and RodA or its mutants are shown.
