Effect of the proinflammatory cytokine IL-6 on the CP expression of NKCC1, pNKCC1 and pSPAK. Primary cultures were treated with either 1 pg/mL, 1 ng/mL, or 100 ng/mL IL-6 for 24 (A) or 48 (B) hours. Cells were lysed and subjected to immunoblotting for NKCC1, pNKCC1, pSPAK and proteasome 20 S on the same membrane. Molecular masses (shown in kDa) are indicated on the left. The NKCC1, pNKCC1, pSPAK and proteasome 20 S specific bands were quantified densiometrically.
