The authors regret that the following errors have been identified.

    The trial registration should read “ClinicalTrials.gov Registry NCT03213990” not “ClinicalTrials.gov Registry NCT03212990” (page 273).

  • 2.

    The “Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE) III score” in “Adjusted analyses” (page 277) and “APACHE III score” in Table 3 (page 276) and “Subgroup analyses” (page 277) should read “Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation (APACHE) II score” and “APACHE II score”, respectively. Note: the APACHE III diagnosis in Table 4 (page 277) is correct.

  • 3.

    Author affiliations for Stephen J Brett should read “6, 7” not “5, 6, 7”.
