Conversion of 4-NT under anaerobic conditions by resting cells of Mycobacterium sp. strain HL 4-NT-1. Resting cells were obtained by growth in mineral medium with 0.5 mM 4-NT and 10 mM succinate. The optical density of the cell suspension was 5.0. The concentrations of 4-NT and 6-AC were determined by HPLC analysis.
