In addition to the substrates shown here, the following carbohydrates were tested and resulted in enzyme activities corresponding to the values obtained in the control experiment: d-ribose, d-lyxose, d-fructose, d-mannitol, d-sorbitol, d-glucuronic acid, lactulose, lactitol, lactobionic acid, and sucrose.
