Linear stretcher optical assembly. A 1:1 image of the laser diode source is formed at the focal plane of a 40× objective. An aspheric lens collimates the laser output, a cylindrical lens telescope corrects for the source geometry, and an identical aspheric lens refocuses the laser. The sample is illuminated from above and an image is formed below on the camera.
