Task. In the first block, participants observed 30 health-related statements randomly selected from a list of 60. On the second or third block (counterbalanced) participants observed each of the 60 statements and indicated whether they would have liked to share the information with participants who may be conducting a similar task the following day. They replied on a continuous scale ranging from 1 “Not at all” to 100 “Very much”. In the second or third block (counterbalanced), participants indicated whether they believed each statement was true or false using a continuous scale ranging from 1 “Definitely False” to 100 “Definitely True”.
