Comparison of the resulting heat conductances when all the leaves are thermostated to when only half of the leaves are thermostated for (a) PE C50 trees and (b) PPP C48 trees from level 1 to level 5. The selection of the leaves that are thermostated is performed in 3 possible ways: biased, uniform, and random. Level 1 trees admit only 1 way (biased). Level 2 trees admit 2 ways (biased and uniform). Level 3–5 trees admit all 3 of the listed approaches.
