At day 0 forcing induces flowering and the apex transition from vegetative to reproductive occurs in during the first week. Following the apex transition, flower and fruit development occurs normally. Lower right photographs indicated on the left the size of the apex after initial trimming and on the right the apex actually used to extract RNA.
