Specificity of nanoparticle immunoassay for detection of E. coli O157:H7. Whole-protein lysates of nonpathogenic E. coli strains K-12, HB101, F18, and C25 were used to test the specificity of the nanoparticle immunoassay. Additional dilutions of E. coli O157:H7 antigens were used to establish both the linear range and the saturability of the immunoassay.
