Adjusted associations were assessed using propensity score matching across age; sex; race and ethnicity; body mass index; hemoglobin level; history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease; smoking status; left ventricular ejection fraction; estimated glomerular filtration rate; whether the surgery was emergent or valve surgery; and the patient's surgeon.
LOS and total time on ventilator were log-transformed and examined using linear regression.
Whether a patient was discharged to a rehabilitation facility was examined using logistic regression and displayed as an odds ratio.
