The solution of thiol (0.50 mmol), Ni(OTf)2(0.05 mmol), DMSO (1.75 mmol) and HBr (33% in AcOH, 0.75 mmol) in anhydrous DCM (2.0 mL) was heated at 40 °C for 12 h. Then, for oxidative fluorination: the reaction mixture was added dropwise into the solution of TBAF (2.5 mmol) and NEt3 (3.5 mmol) in DCM (1 mL) in an ice-salt bath. The mixture was stirred at r.t. for 8 h. For oxidative azidation: the reaction mixture was added dropwise into the solution of TMSN3 (1.5 mmol) and NEt3 (4 mmol) in DCM (1 mL) in an ice-salt bath. The mixture was stirred at r.t. for 8 h. For oxidative esterification: the reaction mixture was added dropwise into the solution of alcohol (1.5 mmol) and NEt3 (4 mmol) in DCM (1 mL) in an ice-salt bath. The mixture was stirred at r.t. for 8 h. Isolated yield.
