Effects of AEUD and MESA on colonic mucosal antioxidant enzyme activities: SOD (A), CAT (B), and GPx (C) during DSS–induced colitis in rats. Animals were pre-treated with three doses of AEUD (50, 100, and 200 mg/kg, b.w, p.o.), MESA (100 mg/kg, b.w, p.o.), or distilled water, and challenged with DSS (5%, w/v) or NaCl (0.9%, 5 mL/kg, b.w.) during 7 days.
