SARS-CoV-2 Vaccinatation in Mexico: (a) proportions of vaccine types used, with info for the first 200 million doses received in the country up to April 2022 [3]. During late 2022 and 2023, the protein vaccine CIGB-66/Abdala developed by Centro de Ingeniería Genética y Biotecnología del Ministerio de Salud Pública (Cuba), was offered to unvaccinated adults or to adults with no previous boosters, once massive vaccination was over. Less than 300,000 doses of the CIGB-66/Abdala have been applied in Mexico, and are not depicted in (a). As of October 2023 Mexican health autorithies annouced that COVID-19 booster doses will be available to adults 60+ and adults with comorbidities during the 2023–2024 influenza vaccination season, even if previously vaccinated. These boosters will be provided with CIGB-66/Abdala or Sputnik Gam COVID-VAC. (b) proportions of vaccine coverage by age group, from periodic information by health authorities and [1].
