The proposed structure of the pMV158-ssoA between the indicated coordinates, and the positions of the CS-6 and RSB sequences, and of the 3′ end of the deletions in plasmids pLS1Δ13 and pLS1Δ14 are shown. The initiation points and direction of lagging-strand synthesis, mapped in Fig. 6, are indicated by filled arrowheads along with the sizes of the bands obtained after digestion with AflII. The same bands were observed in a time course analysis from the pLS1-ssoA (15).
