Thermal-denaturation at 60 °C was performed in the presence of oxidized glutathione, GSSG. Resulting turbidity was measured of WT, N14D, and N76D γS crystallins with (dotted lines) and without (dashed lines) GSSG. Each sample contained 1.0 mg/ml of protein. (*) denotes significant differences from oxidized WT using Student’s t-test, p < 0.0007.
