VP16 nuclear localization precedes that of VP22. Vero cells were synchronously infected with HSV-1(F) or mock infected, fixed at the indicated times, and double stained with anti-VP16 monoclonal and anti-VP22 polyclonal antibodies as described in Materials and Methods.
