Ethyl acetate extracts (lanes B to E) were spotted on a C₁₈ reversed-phase TLC plate, and 60% methanol was used as the liquid phase. Molecules with autoinducer activity were visualized with a soft agar overlayer containing X-Gal and A. tumefaciens indicator cells.
