DNA Flux from Plastid to Nucleus.

The nuclear genome continually engulfs the plastid DNA and eliminates it by genome shuffling. This evolutionary process mainly proceeds at unique loci of the nuclear genome, such as the pericentromeric regions. CP, chloroplast.
