Identification of transplanted ENSCs and their differentiation within the rectum. (A) Rectum was explanted immediately following EUS-guided colonoscopic injection of multiple colored dyes into the rectal wall: green dye (green arrows), yellow dye (yellow arrows), and black ink (white arrows and circle). High-power imaging identified the injected RFP beads (B). Sections of recipient gut reveal successful targeting of the submucosa and muscularis layers with dye (C), and identification of GFP+ cells (D, green arrows) and RFP beads (D, white arrows) within the submucosal layer.
